Happy birthday, John.

May the candles on your cake not burn your face off.

Re: Fruitcake Lounge

My ATM card decided it was time to die...
Luckily I could use my credit card to withdraw some cash, or I would have no way to access my money...

Oh, and did I mention I saw Nathan Barnatt on Auction Hunters yesterday, buying a Miss Pacman game?

Re: Fruitcake Lounge

I'm late as I usually am, but happy birthday anyways.

Re: Fruitcake Lounge

Im still 21, so you are not too late. But then again, if I you were too late to congratulate me for my 21st birthday since I would be 22 already, you could ofcourse congratulate me for being 22. So there's always plenty of time and reasons to congratulate someone. smile

Re: Fruitcake Lounge

Well, congratulations for that then...

Re: Fruitcake Lounge

Congratulations on surviving this long, Mr. Woher. I'm... impressed.

On a less villainous note, I'm smoking another pork shoulder for the July 4th holiday here. It's a lengthy process, but the results are wonderful. The tabasco plant is also producing now, so I'm looking forward to cooking with those peppers at some point.

Re: Fruitcake Lounge

The varnish layer on my car is peeling, so I tried to cover it with some clear coat.
Car went from being ugly to still being ugly, only a little bit less shiny...

Re: Fruitcake Lounge

That reminds me: I have chrome fenders on my bike, which I never liked. I think I might try to buff them down and paint them a metallic grey, to match the frame.

Also, I'm excited because I finally got a decent treadmill yesterday. I plan to use it as the base for a treadmill desk.

Speaking of fat-burning, I'm pretty sure the collective fat of the US is what's making the earth tilt more dramatically toward the sun during the summer, giving us these record-breaking temperatures. We either need to lose the weight, or Australians need to step up to the plate and eat enough to counterbalance us.

Re: Fruitcake Lounge

I think there aren't enough Australians to pull that off...
Unless you'd want them all to grow three times as large as the average American...

Re: Fruitcake Lounge

You guys have your absurd heat and I assume very dry weather to go with it, meanwhile we're having record-breaking rainfall, complete with widespread flooding. Bad times.
Also this should be our summer. It would appear we're not actually going to get a summer this year.

Re: Fruitcake Lounge

That's unfortunate, I guess it will be a rainy olympics. But probably better than a heat wave olympics.

Re: Fruitcake Lounge

I'm sure this can't last another 20 days, the sky just can't be that damn wet, but we'll have to see I suppose. The Olympic torch procession has been battered by it though.

Re: Fruitcake Lounge

Had me some fun with rubbing compound this morning

But no, seriously, referring to this:

Applied some Commandant 4 and elbow grease, to return some of the shine.
It still looks ugly, only a bit less then it did before spraying it with clear.

Re: Fruitcake Lounge

An orbital buffer or orbital sander with a fleece pad on it could help you get that finish buffed to a near-showroom shine. Doing it by hand is hard.

Yeah, the teacher of geomorphology at our University said that the path of these jet streams is of more influence of the wheather than any other wind flow.
