Whoa! Something ain't right!
I'm getting all kinds of iPad adverts, linked through certain words!

(like right now, the word "wheather" in woher's post has turned into a link...)

Re: Fruitcake Lounge

That sounds strange. You might have a virus! There shouldn't be text link ads on any of the sites. Can you send a screenshot?

Re: Fruitcake Lounge

Endless hours on shady porn sites can do that. It's why I'm using AVG AV software. It's like hanging rubbers on your wi-fi antennae. Actually, I think that's their product tagline.

Speaking of needing protection, the jet stream's weird behavior has kept Georgia searing hot during the day and soaked under thunderstorms each night. I'm really about ready for winter now.

Just buy a damn iPad and I'll stop.

Well, guess I'm busted... Thing is, I don't use Chrome for that...

Hey! I've posted a screenshot of this page, so you can read the forum while you read the forum!
But seriously, you can see there's three unwanted links in three different posts.
And it's completely random, since the link in woher's post changed from wheather to more.

I ran Spybot, but it appears that didn't work.

Re: Fruitcake Lounge

One of the few IE users still left in this world and nothing for me so far.

Re: Fruitcake Lounge

Same with me, naruga.  I have never had an issue with IE.

Re: Fruitcake Lounge

And I use chrome, and there are no links here. You could check if there are any unwanted "extensies" that you might have picked up downloading programs and such under "instellingen".

#3889 2012-07-12 08:18:50

Re: Fruitcake Lounge

I could check that if I knew where to find these "extensies".
Can't find them under "instellingen"...

Re: Fruitcake Lounge

Could be the Text Enhance virus:

http://botcrawl.com/how-to-remove-text-enhance/

To uninstall from Chrome:

Step 1: Open Chrome, click on the Settings icon, and navigate to Tools > Extensions.
Step 2: Select the Text Enhance plugin from the list of extensions, and click Uninstall or Disable.

How do you know if someone uses IE? Don't worry, they'll tell you.

Re: Fruitcake Lounge

There is no text enhance plugin in the extensions menu...

But there's someone coming over to check my computer, so I'll just let him fix it rather than trying myself.
Last time I tried to make my computer faster I broke my internet connection...

Re: Fruitcake Lounge

Uhm... No... I am really bad with computer programs...
You need to tell me EXACTLY where to find something, and what to do with it, or else I get stuck...

And:
new = opposite of old
knew = past tense of know

now = immediately
know = possessing knowledge of something

Re: Fruitcake Lounge

Fixed.

Re: Fruitcake Lounge

Apparently, English is close enough to Dutch to render loose comprehension possible.

Incidentally, that's one of the most vulgar comments I've ever seen here. I'm surprised you haven't deleted the comment, Admin. "Pagina," indeed.

Re: Fruitcake Lounge

Alright, again, I did NOT have "enhanced text" or anything like it in the extensions list.
So I could NOT uncheck it.

The guy who came over ran some anti spyware and malware programs, and almost nothing came up.
What was surprising, is that Chrome was actually slower than Internet Explorer.
So Chrome is now gone, I'm using FireFox at the moment.

Thanks for the help anyways.

*EDIT*

Completely off the subject, my car has a carbon-look roof now:

Re: Fruitcake Lounge

Well you could always just uninstall and reinstall Chrome. Though I'm not sure if I should help you after all this dirty pagina talk you've been leaving in my forums.

Re: Fruitcake Lounge

Will you please stop it with the pagina jokes?
My great uncle suffers from it and it's no laughing matter.
